The farm, near Stow-on-the-Wold, is leased from the nearby active Huntsman’s quarry. The farm’s land contains a lake derived from previous quarry workings, a stretch of old limestone quarry wall which has geological interest, and a prehistoric bowl barrow of archaeological interest. It supports a number of butterfly species.
GVCV has worked to clear the quarry face wall of hawthorn and other vegetation, and we are clearing scrub from the bowl barrow to reveal its archaeological bowl form more clearly.
